The real issue is not with the synthetic or blended oil. The real issue comes when the oil is not changed in a car at all. If your car recommends that you have full synthetic oil you should of course go that route, if not, you just need to follow the recommendation of your mechanic. If you do not change the oil in your car your engine can lock up due to lack of lubrication, your car may smoke or let off foul odors, and it will cease to operate at all.
